Training camp is underway as teams prepare for the upcoming NBA season. That gives us just enough time to look at the best players in the league heading into the 2015 16 season. There are plenty of new faces on this list. including some local favorites who each took a huge step forward in their development a year ago and hope to do the same again. There are also a handful of players looking to bounce back and show that they can be frontline stars while others try to make themselves household names to every NBA fan.

This is my ranking of the best 50 players in the NBA today.

After an amazing summer for the Spanish national team, Gasol showed that he has plenty left in the tank. He found new life in his first year with the Bulls and had his best rebounding season of his career. He also showed off an impressive array of offensive moves from all over the floor. On the season, he started 78 games and averaged 18.5 points on 49.4 percent shooting from the floor and 80.3 percent from the free throw line. He added 11.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 blocks in 34.4 minutes to earn second team All NBA.

Duncan may be past his prime, but he still has the game to make an impact. He is an elite shot blocker and an impressive rebounder who is also in the right position on defense. On the other end of the floor, he can facilitate the offense from the post because of his court vision or beat his man for easy baskets. Last season, he started 77 games and averaged 13.9 points on 51.2 percent shooting from the floor and 74 percent from the free throw line. He added 9.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in 28.9 minutes to earn third team All NBA.

George will try to regain his All Star form after a nba basketball jerseys cheap brutal leg injury forced him to miss all but six games last season. The good news for Pacers fans is that if he can approach that level then the playoffs are a NBA Jerseys China
solid possibility. In 2013 14, he started 80 games and averaged 21.7 points on 42.4 prcent shooting from the field, including 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 86.4 percent from the free throw line. He added 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.9 steals in 36.2 minutes to earn third team All NBA.

Even though the Cavaliers lost in the NBA Finals, James is still the best player in the world. He can guard all five positions, score at will and is a tremendous passer. Last season, he played 69 games and averaged 25.3 points on 48.8 percent shooting from the floor and 71 percent from the free throw line. He added 7.4 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals to earn his ninth All NBA first team selection.

Here are some highlights:

What does Yogi’s spot on the team depend on? Just D Will/Barea? Or could he be sticking around longer even when some guys get healthy?

Sefko: Hard to see the Mavericks letting him go now. Right now they have 15 guys, and while you never know who might get bought out or released that could help, the way the guards have been dropping like flies this season to injury, you probably want to keep him around as a security blanket if nothing else. And who knows, sometimes kids like that only need a break to show they have what it takes to be a regular contributor.

What were your first impressions of Yogi Ferrell?

Sefko: Outrageously good. As mentioned above, he’s already earned his keep in one game. If a minimum salary guy helps you win one game you weren’t expected to win, he’s justified his existence. But from the vibe I’m getting, this guy has a little more to offer than just one game. He’s going to make mistakes. All rookies do. But he doesn’t seem to have any fear in him and he’s already getting the respect in the locker room.

Of the teams vying for the West’s No. 8 seed (Denver, Portland, Sacramento, New Orleans, Minnesota), would you say any of those are absolutely better than Dallas (the way it’s playing) right now?

Sefko: The truth is I don’t particularly like any of those teams. They all have flaws. You would think Portland would get things together and make a push. But that’s no guarantee. New Orleans can’t stay healthy. Denver, Sac, Minny? No thank you. The Mavericks are as good as any of them, but that miserable start put them way, way behind the 8 ball.

Do you think Justin Anderson jersey cheap’s recent hot streak has increased his trade value? If that’s the case, would it be wise for the Mavs to sell high?

Sefko: You always want to sell high and I can assure you if there is any blockbuster out there (and I’m hearing it’s very unlikely), Anderson jersey cheap would have to be a piece of the outgoing package. He’s got talent and athleticism and a good motor. All he needs is consistency and a clear role. One could lead to the other.

Do you think Hammons and Brussino can make a serious contribution to the team next season?

Sefko: Not ready to jump in on that one. I don’t think Hammons is far enough along and while playing in the D League is helpful, there aren’t a lot of quality big men roaming Cheap NBA Jerseys
around in that league. If you’re 6 11 or taller and can play, you’re in the NBA. As for Brussino, once he conquers the language, and he’s making strides there, he’ll get a bigger shot to contribute. He needs a summer in the weight room and playing in the summer league would do wonders for him. I can tell you the Mavericks think highly of his potential ceiling.

SMU men’s basketball head coach Tim Jankovich recently went on 103.3 FM ESPN Dallas’ Dennis and Cowlishaw Show. Here are some highlights.

On how long it took him to get over SMU’s first round NCAA tournament loss to USC to appreciate what the team accomplished this year:

“I don’t have the answer yet but gaining on it and so are players. I’ve done this a long time and the one thing I have learned nba basketball jerseys cheap hopefully there’s more than one you always end the season in a lot of pain unless you win the national championship. So far I haven’t done that so it’s all different. I’ve been involved with final eights and 16s and first rounds and second rounds and conference championships won and lost and it’s always pain. It’s a lot of pain. And there certainly was and is here but everybody is healing up and we are starting to feel a little bit more normal.”

On junior Semi Ojeleye declaring early for the NBA draft but not signing an agent:

“He’s gonna allow both ways. I encourage everybody to do that because the NBA and NCAA have set it up to where you can really test it. And so if you go down this, NBA teams will start bringing guys in I think it’s April 23 or 24, they can start bringing in guys to work out and interview guys and the combine is in May. Then you can take your name out May 24. So I think it’s a great thing for him right now. It’s a little early to know. The last thing you want to do is look at mock drafts because those are not accurate. So you got to do some searching and you got to let some time go by and you got to have some people look at him in person and watch him and all that and you’re going to get the real feedback from the GMs and from the player personnel and scouts and all that.”

On if the team will use its first round exit as fuel for next season:

“I think it will fuel everyone in our program without question. The first game you ever play in an NCAA tournament, and I’m going back to my playing days, it’s disconcerting. No matter how much you prepare mentally, it’s hard to get comfortable. And that’s why there’s a lot of upsets in my opinion in the first round. That’s why a lot of the play in teams win the next game in my opinion, because they got the NCAA jitters out. And in no way do I mean that as an excuse. I promise you, early on and late on throughout the whole game I could feel our team was not the same team they had been all year long. Just a little Cheap Jerseys
bit tentative and hesitant and a tiny bit tense, which is totally understandable. But what I think the best part is is moving forward and it’s a hard road to get there but if we get there next year I think our guys would have a whole different sense of comfort and confidence having already playing in a game.”

As the 2012 13 NBA regular season nears the end, the Los Angeles Lakers jersey cheap are on the verge of missing the playoffs for just the sixth time in franchise history.

The Los Angeles Lakers jersey cheap franchise began in Minneapolis in 1947. The name Lakers came from Minnesota’s nickname,”The Land of 10,000 Lakes.”

Since starting up, the Lakers have made playoff appearances in all but five seasons. In the years that they missed the postseason, it was usually due to turmoil in the coaching staff or offseason trades. only missed the playoffs two seasons in a row once, during the years of 1974 76.

The Utah Jazz jersey cheap and the Lakers have each taken turns in the eighth spot as of late. If the Jazz hold onto the final seed, the Lakers will miss the playoffs despite their late season push.

The 1957 58 Minneapolis Lakers were riddled with coaching issues. George Mikan, who was drafted by the Lakers in 1947, was hired as head coach in the off season. After a 9 30 start, he resigned midway through the year.

John Kundla, the head coach of the Lakers their first nine years of existence, came out of retirement to take over the team. The turmoil in the coaching staff was in large part the reason the Lakers couldn’t find a groove all season.

Finishing last in the league in 1957 58 led NBA Jerseys China
to a No. 1 draft pick the following season, which they used to select Elgin Baylor. He went on to be Rookie of the Year and help the Lakers advance to the finals just one year after checking in as the worst team in the league.

The Lakers acquired Kareem Abdul Jabbar from Milwaukee in 1975. gave up four players in the trade for Abdul Jabbar, and it proved to be the best move to make for the future of the franchise.

Abdul Jabbar led the league in rebounding and blocked shots. Also, he came in second in scoring and field goal percentage. He was named NBA Most Valuable Player, but his efforts were not enough to lead the Lakers to a playoff berth. posted the best record in the NBA and beat the Warriors in the first round.

This was another Laker season with turmoil at the coaching position. replaced coach Randy Pfund with Magic Johnson.

Although it originally looked like a great idea, with Johnson’s coaching career launching a 5 1 record, it quickly failed. Johnson realized he wasn’t cut out for coaching and retired at the end of the season. Unfortunately for the Lakers, the decision to place Johnson as head coach led to a losing record and rare playoff miss.

The Lakers had a lot of offseason movement following their 2004 loss to Detroit in the NBA Finals. Shaquille O’Neal was finally granted a trade after tension with Kobe Bryant peaked. Also the Lakers were without Gary Payton and Karl Malone.

The trades that occurred prior to the season wasn’t the wrecking ball, however. Th Lakers were off to a 24 19 start, then coach Rudy Tomjanovich had to leave the team for medical reasons. What really did the Lakers in, though, were late season injuries to Bryant and Lamar Odom. The Lakers lost 19 of the final 21 games in the regular season.
